Hi there!

No, I wasn’t run over by a bus or anything, I just didn’t post 2 consecutive times because… well life got in the way and all. Lame excuse I know, I’m sorry.

But I’m going to be going on a blog holiday for the most part of June.

Gasp! Why?!

Well, I’ve got exams this month and I have to face my school work.

I might post sporadically though, maybe once a week. Just don’t hold your breath.

My most sincere apologies

Hmmn, let me tell you about Chidinma.

It’s like Chidinma is high on crack this night. She has been disturbing everyone disturbable since she came in from her meal (myself inclusive) She’s been dragging legs and sitting on other people’s chairs, shouting, screaming and locking the door. According to Taiwo she’s been acting that way all evening.

She’s been giving people bad bele eyes, laughing loudly and behaving crazily.

Talking about Wi-Fi passwords and begging me to give Taiwo pure water, it’s only a matter of time till we (the people she’s been disturbing) disturb her in equal measure.

OMG! It’s like she just tried to harrass someone! And she’s still laughing crazily! She just tried to bath me on my bed and we ended up messing up the whole room.

Oh Chidinma!

I can’t believe that I was so caught up in all my achievements today that I forgot to do this.

*Clears Throat*

I would like to use this moment on this special day that my blog is a year old to thank the giver of life, the source of all things, my friend and my King, my muse, my light. My best-est-est friend in the whole world.
Thank you God. I am so thankful for all you have done for me, for my blog, for my friends, for everything!

So with my heart full of gratitude,
My lips full of praises,

My mind in awe of who you are,

And my soul rejoicing in your presence.

I have come to say thank you. Thank you for being God; thank you for being My God. Thank you for its been a year now, thank you for a hundred posts.

Thank you for every thing.

It’s a year already. I am just speechless.

I always wanted to have a blog back in secondary school, but it was just a tall dream. I soon forgot about the dream when I entered uni, but a friend, my best-est-est friend in the whole wide world kept on pushing me to open a blog and I kept on stalling. Until today last year, I saw the WordPress app on a friend’s phone and I opened a blog.

I’d like to say that it has not been easy, although it’s also been fun. Blogging is so many things to me but I’ll just use 2 sentences: Blogging is work. Blogging is a calling.

Seriously, when I decided to get serious about my blog in October 2016, I realised how truly stressful blogging is. With the time-table and struggling to beat deadlines, juggling my life in between and don’t even get me started on when Writer’s Block hits. Blogging is work, and it is stressful.

But I also believe that its a calling. I believe blogging is a calling in the sense that, if you are called to it, no matter what you will stay faithful and commited to it.
Even when there is electric power outage and your battery is low by 10:45pm (or worsestill, the battery is dead) and you’re yet to put up your blog post for the day; or when you’re broke and you don’t have data to post, or when you suddenly realise that it’s your posting day by 11:45pm without a draft at the ready, or when your Stats for blog views are at an all time low and you’re feeling discouraged, and let’s not mention Writer’s Block again (oops, I just did. Too bad).
You in all these instances being me though.
But the thing is despite all these, if blogging is your calling, you’ll find a way to deliver one way or another.

If there is anything I’ve learnt from owning a blog it’s that when there is a will; there is a way.

So my darling readers, my one advice for you on my Blog Anniversary Day (I’m not sure that’s a thing though) is that you find your calling, find that thing within which your passion lies, it could also be writing, maybe not on a blog like me, maybe on Wattpad or Snapchat or Facebook, it could be cooking, or painting or taking care of people. Whatever it is, find your calling and go after it.

One of the reasons I also opened a blog was to leave a legacy behind just in case I fall dead tomorrow. I have something that will be used to remember me by. So what is your legacy? What will be your legacy? How will people remember you ever walked this earth?

Find your passion, find your calling and invest into it. And let that be your legacy.

One year and still going strong.

Jesus! I didn’t post yesterday!
And I have a perfectly good explanation. My 1.5gb data subscription that was meant to take me throughout the whole month suddenly finished under the space of 2 weeks (on Friday) as I was trying to upload a video of our choir concert – which took place on Friday – on instagram (the concert was LIT on a whole other level by the way)

And the concert was a vigil so I slept late and woke up late and I’m currently tight on cash and decided to load my phone using the ATM (the same one that came alive after me and my Sisters prayed over it)

Anyways, I decided to use the ATM after prayer meeting ended by 7pm yesterday evening and my phone was credited like over 45 minutes later, then I bought my data and it also took a while for me to receive it. During which period my phone died and I went out to play, I came back in pretty late and forgot completely about my phone and blog till I saw that the time was 12 am and I realised: Jesus, I didn’t post yesterday!

Since it’s still around 12, let’s consider this as Saturday’s post, I’ll still post later on today for Sunday.

I grimaced as yet another snore escaped from his mouth directly into my ear, I closed my eyes asking for the grace to bear this torture. I felt moisture on my shoulder and turned.

Oh God! He’s drooling on me!!!

I tried to reposition myself, but there was no shaking this guy off. We’d been on the bus for about 5 hours now, Ibadan was still 2 hours away, I didn’t even realise when the man sitted next to me fell asleep, well until he began using my shoulder as a pillow and singing snooze tunes straight into my ears.

I tried sleeping, but this guy’s snores were hard core! I couldn’t close my eyes for a straight minute.

Finally after what seemed like eternity, we arrived at the motor park. We were in Ibadan, safe and sound, I shifted my shoulder and tapped the guy next to me. It had been a really long and stressful trip, and I didn’t know what he had been through before boarding the bus so I couldn’t attack him or complain or anything.

The man stirred next to me, straightened his head and looked at himself, he turned and looked at me, I managed a sheepish smile, he turned away looking ahead, then scratched his eyes, after which he rubbed his mouth, which he realised was moist causing him to clean it with the back of his shirtsleeve. He eyed my shoulder, which already had a wet patch, clearing his throat, he stood up and stepped out of the bus.

Wow! Rude much?

No EXP #1 this night, I’m sorry. Please bear with me.

So, the ATM in my school has been temporarily out of service for close to 3 weeks now, I was meant to be out of money by Tuesday, but, due to good financial wisdom I managed to have enough to take me through even today, but as of yesterday I was on the verge of stranded.

I was praying with a group of my friends- sisters last night and I just told them to help a sister out and speak life to the ATM that had been dead for over 3 weeks, the ATM that was supposed to have been fixed last week and started malfunctioning on the very day it was, someone even tried to explain logically what was wrong with the ATM, but I didn’t care, I went on to ask my sisters to pray along with me because there’s no logic with God.

So I woke up with my last card today and I was not to be bothered, some students were leaving school to Ibadan today and were collecting ATM’s to withdraw for people, I considered giving them mine, but on my way to class this morning, I saw the black van which usually signified something good as regards the ATM (although, the last time it came in most people were thoroughly disappointed… and a few times before that also)

Anyways, I remembered that I’d prayed concerning the ATM the previous night and I had faith it was going to work, and that’s the thing about faith; you don’t see any proof of it, but you know it’s on the way. So, I let them go off to Ibadan without my ATM card all the while thinking that if the ATM machine I was banking on did not work, then I’d be totally screwed.

Long story short, I was the first person that the ATM machine dispensed for today, that krrr sound was music to my ears as my faith became a reality.

Hebrews 11:1 KJV

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

I don’t know what you’re asking God for right now, but I know that he’s well within the means to get it done. It could be more important than provision or very trivial and seemingly insignificant, but as long as it’s important to you, commit it to his hands. Close your eyes and watch faith bring to reality what logic and or reason can not.

Never forget. If you have faith; you can move mountains.
